Please read this Health Disclaimer carefully before using the Ankaa mobile application (the “App”). By accessing or using the App, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agreed to this disclaimer in its entirety.
1. General Wellness Information Only
Ankaa provides general wellness information and self-care support only. All content, techniques, and guidance offered through the App — whether relating to emotional wellbeing, physical symptoms, acupressure, meridian-based practices, mindfulness, affirmations, or otherwise — are provided for educational and self-care purposes only and do not constitute medical or clinical advice of any kind.
2. Not Medical Advice
The App does not provide, and is not intended to provide, medical advice, diagnosis, treatment, cure, or prevention of any disease, illness, injury, or medical condition. Nothing in the App should be construed as a substitute for:
- professional medical advice from a qualified healthcare practitioner;
- clinical diagnosis or assessment by a licensed medical professional;
- prescribed treatment, medication, or therapy;
- consultation with a mental health professional; or
- advice from any other regulated health or care provider.
You must not rely on the App, or any content or guidance within it, as the basis for any health-related decision without first consulting a qualified healthcare professional.
3. No Therapeutic or Clinical Relationship
Your use of the App does not create, and is not intended to create, any patient–provider relationship, doctor–patient relationship, therapeutic relationship, or other clinical or regulated relationship between you and Tapp Collective Ltd or any of its employees, officers, or representatives.
The App is a self-guided wellness tool. Neither Tapp Collective Ltd nor any contributor to the App is acting as your healthcare provider, therapist, counsellor, or regulated practitioner in any capacity.
4. Not a Medical Device
The Ankaa app is not classified as, and is not intended to be used as, a medical device. It is not regulated as a medical device by the Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA) or any other regulatory body. It does not diagnose, monitor, treat, or prevent any health condition, and it does not process biometric or clinical data for any diagnostic or therapeutic purpose.
5. Acupressure, Meridian-Based Guidance, and Traditional Wellness Techniques
The App draws on concepts from traditional wellness disciplines, including acupressure and meridian-based theory. These techniques and concepts are not universally accepted by conventional medical science and are not substitutes for evidence-based medical treatment. Any guidance relating to acupressure or meridian-based wellness is provided as general self-care information only, based on traditional practices, and not as clinical guidance.
You acknowledge that:
- individual responses to wellness techniques vary significantly;
- techniques that are suitable for one person may not be suitable for another;
- the App does not have access to your full medical history, current clinical status, or individual health needs; and
- any guidance provided is generic and not tailored to your personal health circumstances.
6. Machine Learning and Personalised Recommendations
The App uses a proprietary machine learning model to generate wellness recommendations based on the symptoms and emotional states you select. This model was developed by Tapp Collective Ltd using a pre-launch dataset and is not trained on or informed by your personal data. The recommendations it generates are indicative self-care suggestions only and are not clinical recommendations.
You acknowledge that the App’s recommendations:
- are not based on your individual medical history, clinical assessment, or diagnosis;
- are generated algorithmically from generalised wellness data and may not be appropriate for your specific circumstances;
- do not take into account any pre-existing medical conditions, medications, allergies, or contraindications you may have; and
- should not be treated as clinical or personalised medical advice.
7. Seek Professional Advice
You must always seek the advice of a qualified healthcare professional if you have any questions or concerns regarding a medical condition, physical symptom, mental health concern, or your general health and wellbeing. In particular:
- never disregard professional medical advice or delay seeking it because of something you have read, accessed, or used within the App;
- never stop taking prescribed medication or treatment on the basis of anything in the App;
- if you are experiencing a medical emergency, call 999 (UK) or your local emergency services immediately; and
- if you are experiencing thoughts of self-harm or a mental health crisis, please contact the Samaritans on 116 123, your GP, or emergency services without delay.
8. Use at Your Own Risk
Your use of the App and any wellness techniques or content within it is entirely voluntary and at your own risk. You are solely responsible for how you choose to use the information and guidance provided by the App.
In particular:
- stop any practice immediately if it causes or worsens pain, discomfort, dizziness, or any adverse physical or psychological reaction, and seek professional advice if symptoms persist;
- do not use the App if you have a condition that may be aggravated by the techniques described, without first consulting a qualified healthcare professional; and
- if you are pregnant, have recently undergone surgery, or have a serious medical condition, consult your doctor before using any technique described in the App.
To the fullest extent permitted by the laws of England and Wales, Tapp Collective Ltd accepts no liability for any loss, injury, harm, or damage — direct or indirect — arising from your use of the App or any content or guidance within it.
9. No Guarantee of Outcomes
Tapp Collective Ltd makes no warranties, representations, or guarantees, express or implied, regarding the effectiveness, suitability, accuracy, or completeness of any wellness technique, recommendation, or content within the App. Results and outcomes vary from person to person. No specific outcome, improvement in symptoms, or enhancement in wellbeing is guaranteed.
10. Third-Party and External Content
The App may reference, link to, or incorporate third-party wellness content, resources, or external materials. Such content is provided for informational purposes only. Tapp Collective Ltd does not endorse, warrant, or accept liability for any third-party content, products, services, or materials referenced in or linked from the App.
11. Governing Law
This Health Disclaimer is governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes arising in connection with this disclaimer shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales, without prejudice to any mandatory statutory rights you may have under the laws of your country of residence.
By using the Ankaa app, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agreed to this Health Disclaimer. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.
